Top 2 Tuesday

I'm back!!  I haven't blogged in a really long time and I dont really have a reason.  I just wasn't feeling "bloggy"!  I will hopefully have another post today  about my wonderful weekend but for now, here is my Top 2 Tuesday!!

Top 2 Random Facts About Me:
1)  I grew up on a farm.  We started out with all kinds of chickens, ducks, geese, peacocks, really any waterfowl you can think of, we even had a donkey, sheep/lambs and of course my dogs.  I actually thought it was fun growing up having this in my backyard but then my Dad went crazy and bought these things....
So yes, my Dad went overboard and bought lots of Ostriches and Emus!! We had a huge operation with the incubation rooms and all the different areas for the babies and young birds.  I do have to admit that I did like the baby ostriches...they were kind of cute..

My Dad only has a few Emus left....thank goodness he got out of that business...of course it was AFTER my sister and I left home!

2) I complain about my hubby's hobby some because it can be very expensive, but I do enjoy it.  He used to have an old Suburban that he fixed up for rock-crawling and mud bogging.  Yes I married a country guy!  I cant participate in those activities that much because I get bored, but every once in a while, I really enjoy it.  Here is his old Suburban, it is now at the scrap yard but there are lots of good memories of that vehicle.
This is what it sorta looked like when he bought it.  I think all he changed at this time was tires and a lift.
Pretty beat up by now...
This was one of its last outings....no doors!  (I told Wes that I had to have doors!!)
Seen better days for sure....dont think a vehicle is supposed to be that bent!
This is just an example of the things he would do.  (I always watched outside of the vehicle on obstacles like these!!)
Since Wes loved his Burban so much....look at his groom's cake :)

I love my country boy :)

5 Questions Friday

It is finally Friday...it has been a really long week for me and I am so glad the weekend is almost here!!

1.  Can you drive a stick shift?
My very first car was a stick shift, so yes I can drive one but I hate it.  For some reason I get really nervous when I have to drive one...so just give me an automatic :)

2.  What are two foods you just can't eat?
The first thing that popped in my head was tomatoes.  I really really don't like eating those!  The other thing is grapefruit.  The thought of those causes me to make a disgusted look on my face.
 3. Do you buy Girl Scout Cookies?  What is your favorite kind?
I think I may be fired from my job if I didn't! Just kidding!  That is one of the great things about working for Girl Scouts...when we have staff meetings throughout the year, we get Girl Scout cookies! :)
My all time favorite are these..
 These are also very yummy...

4. How do you pamper yourself?
I guess my favorite thing to do is get a pedicure!  Every time I get one, I feel fabulous :)
5.  What is your nickname and how did you get it?
I have several nicknames depending on how uses it.  The first one that I can remember is "Jambo".  My dads best friend from college named me that and it has stuck with me about my whole life.  When I went to Clemson, a lot of people called me "Jami-o".  Now my hubby calls me "JJ" :)

My First Award

I was so excited when I received my first blog award...even if it was from one of my bffs and she may have felt like she had to give me my first award! :)  Either way, I was excited!!!
Here are the rules:
1. Link back and thank the person that gave you the award.
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Award 5 recently discovered blogs. (Some of mine are not recently discovered)
4. Contact them and tell them about their award.

1. Quiet: I am typically a very quiet and shy person until you get to know my better.  I really wish that I was a little more outgoing but I have come to realize I just cant change who I am :)

2. I love where I am in life right now but some days I really really really miss college life!!  There are days that I start reminiscing whether it is because I saw an old friend post pictures on facebook and I start to think about how I miss them.  I miss living so close to every one of my close friends.  Now we all are spread out literally all over the world!  I miss not having real life stress/worries...we thought we had it tough with classes but thinking back..not so much!  I really miss seeing these places everyday...

3. Country life: I am defiantly a country girl at heart.  I think I grew up trying to deny that for years, but I cant deny it anymore.  I love the country life..having lots of land where you cant see what your neighbors are doing all the time, riding 4-wheelers, going fishing and just being outside!  I mean I still love to dress up and do girly things but I am just not a city girl at all!

4. We are in a rut: So our Greenwood friends are in a rut.  The guys have been going to "wing night" for about two years now every Thursday.  (The girls either go to sushi or something if I am not working).  The guys go to this nasty bar in Greenwood and they don't even like the food but they still call it wing night??  If you suggest changing the place, I think they all panic a little bit!  Well for the past 4 or 5 weeks, we now go to La Ha Mexican every Friday.  I mean, its fun and we always have a great time, but these guys are scared of change and we love to make fun of them! :)

5. My new favorite thing to do:I used to hate reading, but a while back Heather introduced me to Karen Kingsbury, The Redemption Series.  Well, I was hooked on those books and now I am hooked on reading!!  Right now I am reading this book..

7. Reality TV: I hate to admit this....but I love reality TV.  I guess since I don't have any drama in my life (which I am thankful for) I love to watch it on TV!  These are some of my favorites..

And the award goes to:
Rachel @ Simple Little Joys
Ally @ Medical Prepster
Heather @ Blonde....Undercover Blonde
Suze @ Just Sayin'
Aubrey @ High-Heeled Love

6. Family: I love big families and have always been amazed at people how have lots and lots of kids.  I have a small family and extended family that usually only sees each other at the holidays (my immediate family is together a lot).  I married into a family that loves get togethers year round.  I love the idea of always being around family and couldnt be happier about my new extended family. Wes and I are very lucky to have two great families :)
