5 Questions Friday

It is finally Friday...it has been a really long week for me and I am so glad the weekend is almost here!!

1.  Can you drive a stick shift?
My very first car was a stick shift, so yes I can drive one but I hate it.  For some reason I get really nervous when I have to drive one...so just give me an automatic :)

2.  What are two foods you just can't eat?
The first thing that popped in my head was tomatoes.  I really really don't like eating those!  The other thing is grapefruit.  The thought of those causes me to make a disgusted look on my face.
 3. Do you buy Girl Scout Cookies?  What is your favorite kind?
I think I may be fired from my job if I didn't! Just kidding!  That is one of the great things about working for Girl Scouts...when we have staff meetings throughout the year, we get Girl Scout cookies! :)
My all time favorite are these..
 These are also very yummy...

4. How do you pamper yourself?
I guess my favorite thing to do is get a pedicure!  Every time I get one, I feel fabulous :)
5.  What is your nickname and how did you get it?
I have several nicknames depending on how uses it.  The first one that I can remember is "Jambo".  My dads best friend from college named me that and it has stuck with me about my whole life.  When I went to Clemson, a lot of people called me "Jami-o".  Now my hubby calls me "JJ" :)

My First Award

I was so excited when I received my first blog award...even if it was from one of my bffs and she may have felt like she had to give me my first award! :)  Either way, I was excited!!!
Here are the rules:
1. Link back and thank the person that gave you the award.
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Award 5 recently discovered blogs. (Some of mine are not recently discovered)
4. Contact them and tell them about their award.

1. Quiet: I am typically a very quiet and shy person until you get to know my better.  I really wish that I was a little more outgoing but I have come to realize I just cant change who I am :)

2. I love where I am in life right now but some days I really really really miss college life!!  There are days that I start reminiscing whether it is because I saw an old friend post pictures on facebook and I start to think about how I miss them.  I miss living so close to every one of my close friends.  Now we all are spread out literally all over the world!  I miss not having real life stress/worries...we thought we had it tough with classes but thinking back..not so much!  I really miss seeing these places everyday...

3. Country life: I am defiantly a country girl at heart.  I think I grew up trying to deny that for years, but I cant deny it anymore.  I love the country life..having lots of land where you cant see what your neighbors are doing all the time, riding 4-wheelers, going fishing and just being outside!  I mean I still love to dress up and do girly things but I am just not a city girl at all!

4. We are in a rut: So our Greenwood friends are in a rut.  The guys have been going to "wing night" for about two years now every Thursday.  (The girls either go to sushi or something if I am not working).  The guys go to this nasty bar in Greenwood and they don't even like the food but they still call it wing night??  If you suggest changing the place, I think they all panic a little bit!  Well for the past 4 or 5 weeks, we now go to La Ha Mexican every Friday.  I mean, its fun and we always have a great time, but these guys are scared of change and we love to make fun of them! :)

5. My new favorite thing to do:I used to hate reading, but a while back Heather introduced me to Karen Kingsbury, The Redemption Series.  Well, I was hooked on those books and now I am hooked on reading!!  Right now I am reading this book..

7. Reality TV: I hate to admit this....but I love reality TV.  I guess since I don't have any drama in my life (which I am thankful for) I love to watch it on TV!  These are some of my favorites..

And the award goes to:
Rachel @ Simple Little Joys
Ally @ Medical Prepster
Heather @ Blonde....Undercover Blonde
Suze @ Just Sayin'
Aubrey @ High-Heeled Love

6. Family: I love big families and have always been amazed at people how have lots and lots of kids.  I have a small family and extended family that usually only sees each other at the holidays (my immediate family is together a lot).  I married into a family that loves get togethers year round.  I love the idea of always being around family and couldnt be happier about my new extended family. Wes and I are very lucky to have two great families :)

Sunday Fun-Day!

I really needed a girls day yesterday out of Greenwood so I asked my friend Katherine if she wanted to go to Anderson with me for lunch and shop a little.  So our favorite place to eat in Anderson now is J Peters!

I wish I had a picture of our appetizer we got...it may have been the best thing we have ever eaten in our life, the baked shrimp and crab dip! Yum!  Then we both got the house salad with croissant..if you have had the California Dreaming Salad, its the same!

(This isn't our salad, I just found this on the Internet :))
Enough about food!  Then we had to go burn some calories that we just consumed shopping.  I got an Old Navy gift card for my b-day so I got a shirt and these cute shoes that I am wearing today..

Ignore the ugly floor of my office!  Then I was on a mission to find a large picture of something and some "things" to put on my new piece of furniture Wes got my for my birthday...read here to see a picture.  We get to pick it up this weekend! YAY! :)

So off we went to Ross.  Ross is always a hit or miss for me and yesterday it was a huge miss.  We saved the best for last and went to our favorite store
We love Target and are very very jealous of people who have this store in their town.  We walked around forever, I bought a new cardigan (sorry no picture) and this picture that we both loved
It is still in the packaging so just ignore the corners.  We thought this would work with both mine and the hubby's interests and color scheme.  We bought a couple of other things then we went to one last store....Pier 1 where I found these cute things (again for my new furniture)

So that ended our shopping spree in Anderson and we headed back to Greenwood.  I talked her into going to Bi-lo with me and I only spend about $130 for groceries....I am used to spending anywhere from $200-$275 yay me and coupons!

One last picture that I absolutely love to death, the other night I looked over at Wes and Gracie (they always share the recliner at night) and look how they were sitting...Love it :)

Callie's eyes were shut until I took the picture!

Guess I need to get back to work!! Have a great Monday!

Bye Bye Pigg!

I know I am being a bit dramatic when I say this, but it doesn't look like I will be grocery shopping much at the Piggly Wiggly anymore.

I have grown to love this store....I mean look at all the free stuff I got from shopping there (see this post).
The reason I am going to switch grocery stores is because apparently they don't like sales as much as Bi-lo does.  I have always known the Pigg was a little more pricey than Bi-lo but it is just so convenient for me...and not usually busy :)
Well, last night I went to the Southern Savers class about extreme couponing and I think I may have a new hobby!  Going into this class, I thought you would have to spend hours clipping coupons and searching multiple stores for good deals...but I was wrong!  It actually sounds pretty easy!  Jenny (creator of Southern Savers) has really done the majority of the work for you.  She tells you what Bi-lo has on sale that week and what coupons to use with that sale.  She saves about $400 a month on groceries.  I am not expecting that..because we don't have kids and right now spend about $450 a month at the grocery store...if that much.  I would be happy saving $50!
She also explained how you never have to pay for toothpaste, shampoo, soap, etc ever again...I don't know about you, but I like the sound of FREE :)
OK...I will stop boring everyone with my "extreme couponing" news, but really, if you haven't checked our the website...you really need too!

Of course once I start saving money...I will let everyone know :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

It is that time again!! Head on over to Jamie's to link up on this beautiful Wednesday!!!
I'm loving that I started an outreach troop at a local Elementary School today.  Basically it is just a normal Girl Scout troop, but it is run by staff instead of volunteers and it is a free program for any girl who wants to join.  It is a way for all girls to be able to be a Girl Scout even if they cant afford it...they can still join!  This week there were 21 out of the 27 girls that signed up there.  Next week I will work with the girls in 3-5th grade and there are 22 of them.
We made a couple crafts today to help them learn the Girl Scout promise....here are a couple pictures of them making the pinwheels :)

I'm loving this weather!!! This time last week it snowed.  I love snow but I am so ready for spring!

I'm loving that I am going to an extreme couponing class tomorrow night.  It is going to be long meeting but I cant wait.  I have heard lots of good things about this class, even if I only save $50 a month..that's worth it.  Check out their website!
I'm loving that my favorite tv shows are coming on tonight...I always look forward to Wednesday and Thursday night tv.  (Wes is control of the remote the other nights!)

I'm loving that Michelle got booted on the Bachelor...so glad she is finally gone...but I was expecting more drama from here when she didn't get a rose.  I am still rooting for Emily, we shall see how her home visit goes!  I actually like all the remaining girls for Brad....that never happens, there is always at least one that I don't like!

I'm loving my hubby, friends, family and puppies...I am one lucky girl :)
