A day in our life!

I always enjoy reading when other mom's in blogland write about a typical day in their household.  Since I mainly blog for myself so I can look back and remember all the fun days with Miss Paige, I thought...why not lets write about a typical day in our lives....

Weekdays:
The worst sound of all, my alarm clock goes off at 7:10 AM.  I know it could be a lot earlier so not complaining about the time, just the fact that it goes off and it means I have to go to work!  I wake up, get my morning coffee sweet tea, make toast and of course my pump and cuddle up on my couch.  I usually watch whatever I DVRed the night before...most likely a Bravo show, while I eat breakfast and pump.  On a good day, I can finish pumping and eating before little Miss P wakes up (not the case this week but usually is).  If she is still sleeping I jump in the shower really fast.  (If I need to wash my hair, I shower at night instead)

Then I hear the best sound ever...little cooing and singing coming through the monitor.  Around 8AM at the latest, Paige wakes up and we snuggle up for her morning bottle.  Once she is finished I get her dressed for school and if she is wearing a new outfit, I have to take a picture!
Then we are off to school.  We go into her classroom and chat with Mrs Linda for a couple minutes.  Mrs Linda hugs and kisses on P and tells her how pretty and sweet she is and then its my turn for hugs and kisses and she is excited to go play with her friends and Mrs Linda.  Mrs Linda always says love you Mama and Ill miss you for Paige.  Then I rush down the street to my office.

I work until 12, well usually 11:50 so I can pick Paige up at 12.  I walk in and see my baby girl.  I hate I have to work but I have the best schedule being able to get her at lunch!  We go home and I eat lunch, feed Paige if she didn't finish her bottle at school, it changes everyday!  Paige plays on the floor or sits beside my while I pump for her next bottle.  Around 12:45 Gerri or my mom, who ever is keeping Paige that afternoon, shows up at the house. We chat a minute then it is time for me to leave again.

Paige plays, takes a long nap and eats real food while I am gone and then I rush home after work.  I do a lot of rushing when I know I am on my way to see Paige...have you noticed?

So around 5:30, Mom or Gerri have left and it is just me and Paige.  She is usually getting her 3rd bottle of the day and then I pump again for her night bottle and usually watch DVR until Wes gets home and takes over the remote.  Wes gets home around 6-630 on a good night.  Lately he is the one in charge of supper, since I am feeding and pumping until he gets home.

Daddy is in the kitchen getting supper ready (I love that sentence) while Paige and I are playing on the floor!  He would much rather me entertain her and he cook anyways.  Then we eat dinner and clean kitchen.  Around 7 or 730 Paige is ready for some more real food, either carrots, green beans or sweet potatoes.  She loves them normally.  After she eats, she either gets a bath or cleaned up and gets on her pjs and we play until 830ish.  Then she is getting sleepy and we cuddle up for a few and then she gets her last bottle anytime between 830-9.

Daddy fixes the bottle, fills up the humidifier while I get her ready for bed.  He brings me the bottle and I feed her in her glider in her room.  We rock and rock..my favorite part of the day.  I tell her who all loves her, how thankful we are for her, what our plans are for the next day and we end with out nightly prayers.  Then once she finishes her bottle, within a minute she is asleep, but I like to rock her for 10 minutes or so before I put her in her crib.

Then guess what, it is time to pump again (I really don't mind it normally, but when I write it out like this, it seems to take up a lot of time).  Wes is usually snoozing in the recliner by this time.  Sometimes he is awake, but usually not.  So if is he is napping...I still the remote!  Once I am finished, I clean up and wake Wes up to go to bed.  We are both usually in bed by 10 at the latest and asleep in no time!

That is a typical weekday for us...weekends you can get an idea by my weekend updates!

Our Weekend

What a cold Monday.  Mondays are already hard enough already...why does it have to be so cold at the end of March?? Ugh! Ready for warm weather!!  Anyways, we had a pretty good weekend.  Friday night Wes went to the grocery store (we still have separate accounts for some reason and since we had Paige he is in charge of buying groceries.  He doesn't have to do the shopping but he pays for it...kinda nice!)  and brought home a feast for dinner.  You will see that he only can buy for one meal at a time...  He made pork tenderloin, carrots, homemade mashed potatoes (I made those) and broccoli.  It was so yummy and I didn't have to buy it, cook, or clean!  He also helped me make my cake pops for Easter play date. I was just in charge of keeping Paige entertained...and he thinks he had the easier job!
We just hung out around the house the rest of the night.  Then Saturday we finished cleaning the house and waited for Heather and Audrey.  Look at how cute messy my cake pops turned out...Wes was in charge of the chocolate..so I can blame him on that right? Just kidding.
I had some spare time that morning so I organized her bows.  Every night while I am rocking Paige to sleep I think about doing this and I finally did.
A little side note...Paige has really started relaxing during and after her bottles...

Back to my weekend.  Heather and Audrey got here and we decided to go to Chili's for lunch.  I had a gift card so it was basically a free lunch.

Of course Paige isn't as calm as sweet Audrey so she insisted on getting out of her car seat and then proceed to stare at Audrey!

After lunch we went to our favorite store Sweet Teas and then back home.  We of course took some Easter pictures. I had some props and was hoping to take the pictures in pretty green grass outside but yeah..it was cold and raining so we were on the bed..

Right before it was time for Audrey and Heather to head back home, Heather had a great idea...take the girls to the mall for a picture with the Easter Bunny.  We ordered two 4x6 pictures and they are supposed to give us the same picture but they decided to let us have two different ones.  One was better of Audrey and one was better of Paige. How sweet :)
Wes and Jonathan were off playing all day and they came home soon after that.  We had leftovers from the last two nights for dinner and watched a movie.  It was the latest James Bond movie..I'm not a big fan so I mainly played with Paige.  They liked it though.

Sunday we all slept in.  Wes and I woke up at 8!  That hasn't happened in forever and Paige woke up like 10 minutes later.  It was nice.  Wes went to the grocery store again..see he cant buy for a week at a time for some reason.  He bought some things for lunch and things Paige needed. Then he went out to the farm.  Normally Paige and I go, but I didn't want Paige out in the cold weather.  So we had a pj day!  Mrs Thurston came to visit a while and then Paige had a THREE hour nap!  Wow!

It was so awesome to just lay around all day...I think we both needed it!  Then Wesley showed up with more groceries...see, he really needs to make a list and stock up!  He cooked supper again and actually bought food for the week...maybe he is learning!
We ended our nice little weekend with another movie which I really enjoyed, Trouble with Curve.  If you haven't seen it, you should watch it.  To top it all off, Paige slept 12 hours last night.  I mean, she is always a good sleeper and napper but really good this weekend!

Hope you had a great weekend too!  Happy Monday :)

Faith, Family and Ducks

I am absolutely obsessed with Duck Dynasty, as most of America is as well.   I have always loved big families and love family get togethers so I love that there is finally a family based reality show that isn't all about fame and money like the Kardashians!  The Robertson's are just normal (ok normal might not be the best word) down to earth people who love God, their family and just life in general.

I love all the people on the show.  I have told Wes numerous times that I want to be Miss Kay when I grow up.
She is just too cute!! I also told Wes a million times about my crush on Jase...I mean he is just the best!  Jase is open about his faith, loves his wife and always likes to have a good time!
Then there is Si...oh Si.  What a character you are!!  He is the uncle everyone wishes they had.  I could watch him forever!! Wes and I talk about Si all the time.  And then he reminded me, he has an Uncle Si called Faulkner!  I really cant even pick out my favorite Si moment because there are so very many.
Jodi sent me this link yesterday about things everyone needs to know about this show, which prompted me to write about them today.  I love this show for the following reasons:
1.  They talk about their faith! No I don't go to church all the time but that doesn't mean my faith isn't important to me.  I love that they are open about it.  Faith, Family and Ducks!  The only thing that bothered me on that link was that they edit out a lot of the faith scenes because the producers were uncomfortable.  Shouldn't there be more of that on tv and less violence?

2. They show guns in a positive way.  They aren't shooting people or threatening people.  They hunt!  I'm sure they all were taught at a young age the responsibilities of owning a gun.

3. Phil.  He is the quiet one in the group but when he does speak up, you listen.  He is the head of the family and everyone respects him.  That's another thing you don't see much anymore...respect!

4.  They don't show off their money.  Yes Willie and Korie live in a massive house, but they have to put their money somewhere. Cant hold on to too much money or Uncle Sam will take it.  Love their house by the way.  They buy what they want I'm sure but the show isn't about that.  Now, I am obsessed with all the Real Housewives shows but it is nice to see a show not flaunting all their fancy things!

5.  It is just funny!! I am not one to just laugh out loud when watching tv but I can not help it with this show.  I mean did you watch the other night when Si was on the small carousel or when he was dressed in the white tuxedo?  How Miss Kay treats Jep, when Mountain Man talks, or really anytime Jase is being interviewed...funny stuff!

I wasn't expecting to write about this today but its been on my mind for a little while and wanted to share my thoughts on this wonderful family!

WILW

Does anyone ever watch Live with Kelly & Michael?  I am always at work when it is on but I set my DVR to record it every day and I usually just watch the first 15 minutes and then delete it.  Well, they read something about how women feel/look their worst on Wednesdays at 3pm.  Isn't that strange?  So now, every Wednesday I think about that and maybe even try to avoid people at 3..just kidding :)

Now you will think about that on Wednesdays....now onto the other thing I always think about on Wednesday, Jamie's linkup...

I'm Loving...that it is SPRING!! I love the spring time.  The pretty flowers, green grass, leaves on the trees finally, flip flops and cute clothes.  The only thing I hate about the spring are tornadoes and bad storms.  Although I have never seen a tornado and they aren't very common at all in SC but they still can happen and we see a lot of warning/watches.  I just hold my breath every thunderstorm!  But other than that, I am so very excited for Spring.  I just wish I would stay longer than a day.  I know I shouldn't complain because there is still snow on the ground in some states but we will have 70 degree weather one day, then 40 the next.  I am ready for 70 everyday :)

I'm Loving... the photo shoot we had with Miss P the other week.  I wanted to surprise my Mom and other family members with some cute pictures so that's why I haven't posted them yet.  My mom saw hers yesterday and we mailed them to Jodi and Emily and they should receive them today.  My MIL doesn't read this so I can share before I give it to her.  Since Jodi may read this before she opens her mail today, I will just give you a sneak peak!

I'm Loving...that GAP and This and That (company of Facebook) worked with me last week when I never received their package.  Even though USPS said they delivered them I never got them.  It was three packages in one day! (I was finishing up clearance shopping for next fall/winter for P)  I really think that USPS lost them but they said someone must have stolen them from my mailbox? Maybe I should set up Wes's hunting camera to see if we can see what is going on :)  Anyways, both companies, even though it wasn't there fault are resending me the packages!! How awesome!!

I'm Loving... that I found a really cute shirt the other day that I think I am going to buy for myself.  I never buy clothes for me and I need some!  I will probably go get it tomorrow at lunch if they still have it.  I want to wear it with pants that I already have for Easter.

I'm Loving... we have another play date with Audrey and Heather on Saturday at our house!  It is our Easter themed one and I can't wait.  Hopefully we will have nice warm weather!!

I'm Loving... Paige's school.  Usually when I talk about Paige having to go somewhere because I have to work, it is negative.  But I really love where she goes and I love her teacher Mrs. Linda.  I want her to be her teacher every year.  She is the sweetest lady...she also has 5 foster kids she raises.  That should tell you something about her as well.  Anyways, just so thankful for that school and for Mrs Linda. She really makes it easier for me to leave Paige!  Plus Paige's cousin (maybe 3rd cousin?) is starting next week and I am so excited about that.  There will now be 3 girls and 2 boys.

I love writing this post because it really helps me remember to be thankful for everything and just brag a little bit about anything that I love in my life!  But the things I love the most is my family.  So very thankful for everyone and of course this cutie...

Happy Wednesday...make sure to look pretty at 3pm today ;) photo 8837077b_zpsad55eb7f.png
