Happy 4th of July!

We had a great 4th of July!! Our friend Reynolds came back from Iraq on Saturday so our party today was a mixture of a welcome home and 4th of July.  We spent the day at my friend Katherine's house!   Craig and Wes decided to make a 100 foot slip n slide in the backyard!  At first Wes was going to build a big ramp at the end of the slide to go in the lake, but thankfully they decided it was a bad idea....

Wes was the first to try it out...he loaded it down with soap, took a running start, jumped on the tube and went flying!  He screamed something about going way too fast...he threw the tube to the side and barely stopped before hitting the lake!  Next time he just sat down and slid and it was still fast enough!!
Everyone had a lot of battle wounds but nothing more serious than lots of scratches!  We even had people ride up and stop their boat to watch everyone on the slip n slide.  First time Wes went down...people were cheering from across the cove!

When we were not being entertained by the giant slide, we pulled people on the tube, floated around keeping cool and just hung out...it was a great day!  Oh yeah..had lots of BBQ!

Of course I had to bake a cake for the special occasion...here it is
Sadly the day and long weekend had to come to an end...we all packed up and went home.  But look at this sweet face that I got to hang out with tonight
