Happy Halloween!

I love Halloween!  I love it even more now since we have sweet Paige!  It is such a fun day and I love seeing pictures of all the kids in their cute costumes.  I am not going to lie...I didn't like Halloween when I was in college!  I hated how girls had to make it sexy.  But now since I have a child, I love Halloween again!

I will be back tomorrow for pictures of Paige in her Halloween costume of course!  But today, I wanted to share what Paige gave her teachers at school...

I saw this on a friend's instagram and had to copy! I thought they were so cute and since I am not the most crafty person..EASY!  Her teachers loved it this morning!

One last picture...her is Paige in her festive Halloween pants!

I cant wait to take her in a dark room this afternoon to let her see her shirt glow in the dark!

Hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween!

Hometown in the Headlines

So my little hometown has made the National Headlines!  There a lot of people in South Carolina that has heard of Greenwood but couldn't locate it on the map and now we are in the news (click for video).

Something horrific happened in Greenwood last night, it started out as what they thought was a hostage situation in Callison.  Once I saw it on Facebook, I sent Wes a text and told him to be careful since he was hunting a few miles down the road.  I obviously knew he would be ok, but wanted to give him a heads up.
Law enforcement officials descend upon a house on Callison Highway where six people were found dead. A source said one of them, 27-year-old Bryan E. Sweatt, was the alleged suspect and he killed himself.

I really didn't think much would happen at the house in Callison, I just assumed the cops would get there and take over the hostage situation.  Wes called on his way home and said..it must be bad.  The entire highway (little street but still) is shut down and he had to take a detour to get home.  I kept looking on Facebook for updates and watching our local news but didn't hear a thing.  Like I said, I figured it would blow over and someone would get arrested and that would be it.

Around 9pm, I saw where SIX people were found dead.  Can you believe that?  It was an apparent murder-suicide and everyone was dead.  How can you be so selfish?? If you are going to kill yourself...why kill 3 other adults and 2 innocent kids?  Ugh makes me sick!

Then this morning, I found out that 4 other kids were able to escape before the shooting began.  They ran to their neighbors house...how lucky are they?

I still cant believe this happened in my little old town, so please pray for those 4 kids that lost loved ones and pray for everyone that was connected to those innocent people!

Fall Festival

Last week, Paige's school had a Fall Festival and parents were encouraged to come and help out.  I wouldn't miss it for the world, not just to help out, but I want to be there to watch Paige have fun!

It was only from 9-11:20 on Friday but man were those babies worn out by the time they were finished!  You can tell they are used to their normal routines and were really thrown off by a different schedule.

The whole school was out there at the same time and we went to different stations. The first station we went to was the pumpkin hunt.  There were tiny pumpkins hidden all over the playground and every child was able to find one if not more.  Then they just had some free time to play for a little while.

After the playground, we loaded the babies up and headed to the parking lot to the petting zoo they had set up.  One of the assistants at the school brought animals from her farm and all the kids loved them!

The next activity we did was to ride in the hay ride.  Some of the kids liked it and some hated it...Paige was pretty neutral.

I was a little concerned how the next activity would go over, but all the babies got their faces painted.  They painted a stamp and then stamped their face, makes it so much easier!

Next up, was a small snack and story time.  The babies were really starting to have meltdowns by this point, so the cheese crackers helped out so very much!

The last part of the festival was the bouncy house.  Paige wanted to get in this the entire morning.  When it was finally her turn, she was a little confused by it.  Every time she stood up, she fell and was just getting aggravated.

After the festival, we headed inside to the classroom for their party.  They all loved the goodies and enjoyed everything.

We had a great time and I really think Paige enjoyed her first class party..well, second counting her birthday party!

Halloween Pajama Party!

Today I am linking up with Darci & Meredith for their Halloween Pajama Party Link-Up!

I love having themed pajamas that Paige can wear and when I saw this link-up on Instagram yesterday, I knew I had to pull out Paige's Halloween pajamas!

Here are a few pictures from this morning:

Someone just woke up and wanted to play on Mama's bed.

Paige makes is so very difficult to take pictures these days...she is never still!

She wouldn't smile for me so I started singing so she started laughing and put her hands up on head..but I took the picture and she looks like she is covering her ears so I would stop singing!

Does she not look so old in these pictures? How is my baby 13 months old already??

Pumpkin Patch

Tuesday night while I was at work and Wes was hunting, I sent him a text that said, "Paige and I are going to St. Mark UMC pumpkin patch tomorrow to take pictures and pick out pumpkins.  Do you want to come?"  His response was, "sure sounds like fun".  I was shocked.  Did he really want to do something like this with us?  Surely I thought he was being sarcastic, but come Wednesday afternoon, he was making plans for our family outing!

I know that sounds awful, but he likes doing this with us...when it is something he thinks is fun.  Going to a pumpkin patch doesn't sound like something he will be thrilled about going to.  He was a trooper, he walked Paige around and didn't even get annoyed with me taking pictures.  I think he is finally used to that!

We let Paige walk around where she wanted, she picked out the small balls pumpkins that she liked.  Yes, she thought they were balls and were throwing them every where...oops!  She had to have one in each had and insisted on her Daddy carrying one.  So we ended up with three small pumpkins!

We borrowed their wagon and loaded up the small pumpkins and Paige to start our hunt for our big pumpkin we would carve.  After a few minutes of searching, we found out perfect pumpkin!

The second part of our family outing, we decided to go to Cracker Barrel for supper.  It was the WORST service ever! I mean our waiter was nice, but the food took forever. Not what you want when you have a hungry one year old with you.  I had some food in her diaper bag to hold her over, but the wait was ridiculous.  I mean nothing against Cracker Barrel, but we all know the food isn't made to order...we got vegetable plates.

After waiting 45 minutes for our food and seeing all these people that ordered their food like 30 minutes after us getting their food, out waiter finally came over and said...your food should be up soon.  Waiting on her food...pointing to Paige.  Um really? We ordered her two veggies!  Wes said, no I am sure you just remembered to put the order in?  The guy walked away and I was like..excuse me can we at least get some bread, she is getting antsy!

About 5 minutes later he brought some bread and then finally our food!  What a horrible experience there, but thankfully Paige was pretty happy! When Wes was at the counter paying, the girl was asking how everything was.  Well, Wes never says anything but said "it was the worst experience we have had in a very long time...it was ridiculous."  She offered to get the manager and Wes said he had already waited forever and was ready to get the hell out of there.

What a fun night huh? Oh well, at least we had fun picking out pumpkins and taking some cute pictures!
